UPCOMING SUMMER SEASON:
Lake Brandt Marina, Greensboro, NC – Greensboro Crew is excited to announce a new season of “Masters Rowing” for adults – Summer Session! Rowing will take place on Lake Brandt. The purpose of Masters Rowing is to foster healthy living in a fun team environment for adults through the wonderful sport of rowing.
No prior rowing experience is necessary.
“Masters” is Greensboro Crew’s answer to the high interest in rowing among adults in the Triad and participants may join as individuals or groups of 9 through a corporation (and enjoy a 10% discount).
Rowing has taken off as the new spinning and we have an enthusiastic group of adults rowing at Lake Brandt,” says club organizer Gene Kininmonth. “But our club is so much more than that. Coach Mary is all about having a laugh and making it fun while everyone encourages each other to have fun rowing.”
Format: Participants with no prior experience will start with a learn-to-row format on rowing machines and then progress to the real thing in boats. As technique and stamina improve, a more competitive format will be adopted.
DATES and TIMES: Participants may sign up for these rowing sessions: (note if you miss a practice you can make it up in another time slot)
Masters Unlimited! $275 Get it all for one low price! Monday and Thursday evenings starting June 4 ending July 26, from 6:00pm to 7:30pm.
And: Monday through Saturday mornings from June 4 through July 28 from 7:15am to 8:45am. Wow!!!
Rowing Mon & Thursday (evenings) $200: Monday and Thursday evenings starting June 4 ending July 26, from 6:00pm to 7:30pm.
Rowing Mon & Thursday (mornings) $200: Monday and Thursday mornings starting June 4 ending July 26, from 7:15am to 8:45am.
SUMMER SATURDAY BONUS: All registered rowers row Saturday free: 7:15am to 8:45am.
Attire: Tee shirt, form-fitting shorts, and running shoes are usual attire. Loose fitting shorts will likely catch in the “slide” (where the rowing seat moves back and forth on the rower). Bring a water bottle too!
